Way too much focus on science

No need for double theoretical

Governance is UN/National-based, need to reflect global values localized through bottom up approaches

Make the language clear, concise, factual, spit it out

Give ecological economics a presence, assign values

Lot of words saying it is important, but not forceful enough, telling governments to be more forceful, make the hard decisions like is done with the economy

To get political entities to act, ask for political system change

Power dynamics, we are leaving out a large part of the world when operating from UN framework, need to take into account where the power actually lies and work with in that system, it is in the politics, how can we acknowledge this system and yet make a difference

We have the desire it is there, what is missing is the politicians don’t think the solutions are there, we need to push more toward the adaptive management standpoint, there are no clear solutions, but we need to act, and will adapt

Social perspectives, government, societies incredibly complex, not as easy as we are breaking it down to be, issues with declaration, is that it is super generic and general, most likely results from different paradigms, ways of knowing, so still pushing our own agendas forward, like idea of using consistent words, i.e., reference to first speaker

Cliché all politics is local, power is derived from the local, so politicians caught in middle, timescales for them are electoral, national politicians might not be the right source to look at, should consider shifting the conversation/training to practitioners/change agents versus research

Consider shifting our knowledge production process itself to be more inclusion, co-producing/-generating/-designing/-llaborating

Jargon for politicians we need to respect and convert document to that

Here are a few tables that might help with framing

Be more “spicy” in our language, we youth, don’t be afraid to say it OUR way

Politicians think contextual, short timescales reflect this in the language
