This is the first chance I've had to read through the draft, but I think there are some excellent points in the statement. The 'new solutions' are going to have to be transdisciplinary, and not only that, require (as some have alluded to), greater engagement with stakeholders. It's probably a bit much to suggest inserting words about co-production of knowledge, but that certainly has come through in a lot of the paper sessions.
Personally, I think the most exciting challenges (and opportunities) lie in what I imagine is going to be a Kuhn'ian shift, another revolution in the way we do science - particularly sustainability science - and ensure that is reflected in funding, performance indicators, etc. Interesting times.
